Five teams from the SWHL were in action, as it was a busy weekend for both provincials and league play. Starting in league play, Kindersley defeated Wilkie 4-3 on Saturday to even that series at one game apiece. Kyle Donaldson had one goal and two assists to lead Kindersley to the win. Macklin also answered back in their series against Edam, defeating the 3 Stars handily, 9-3 on Saturday, to knot the series at one win apiece. Carson Pickett had a huge game for the Mohawks, picking up a goal and five assists, for six points in the victory. Cody MacKinnon also had three points (1G, 2A) in the Macklin win. 

Kindersley also played in provincials this weekend, and after losing game two 7-3 on the road in Eston Friday, the team defeated the Ramblers 8-4 on home ice Monday night, to take home the series win. Kindersley plays Hafford in an all SWHL north final in the B bracket of senior provincials.

Macklin was up against Kenaston this past weekend, and after winning game one 4-3 on February 19, the team lost a pair of games to end their provincial run. First was a 5-1 setback at home, and for the winner take all game three on Sunday in Kenaston, the Blizzards defeated the Mohawks 5-2. 

Hafford defeated Wilkie on Friday night in provincials 6-2, as the Forsberg brothers, Alex and Jesse, each scored a pair in the victory. Kindersley will have home ice between the two teams in the north final which needs to be completed by March 14. 

Edam is also playing in provincials as well, as they defeated Debden 7-4 on the road Sunday, to move on to the north final against Kenaston in the D bracket. The 3 Stars will have home ice in the best of three series, which also needs to be completed by March 14. The winner will play the winner of Craik and Foam Lake in the provincial D final.
