The SVHL finals are over after Kenaston completed the three game sweep over the Kyle Elks over the weekend. The Blizzards won in Kyle 4-3 on Friday night, and in a wild back and forth game Saturday in Kenaston, Jaimen Yakubowski got the overtime winner, in a crazy 8-7 win. After trailing 7-5 late, the Blizzards Connor Gay completed his hat trick, and Yakubowski tied it.

The Blizzards are also alive in provincials, as they will play Craik in the provincial final of the D bracket.

Dinsmore is also still alive in provincials, and they won game one against Davidson 4-3 on the road in double overtime, as Josh Atkinson scored with 1:51 left in the fifth period. The Dynamos can wrap up the series on home ice this Friday at 8:00 pm.

Also alive and well in provincials are the Outlook Ice Hawks. After picking up Rosetown Redwings players Jared Jagow, Jordan Johnston, and Kyle Ireland, the team fell behind the Grenfell Spitfires one game to none, after a 10-2 shellacking in game one at the Jim Kook Rec Plex in Outlook. Undeterred, the Ice Hawks bounced back with a 7-2 win on the road in Grenfell Saturday, and kept the momentum going yesterday, knocking off the Spitfires 7-1 back in Outlook to book their ticket to the provincial final in the B bracket. Their opponent will be the Kindersley Sr. Klippers, in an all west central provincial final series. The Ice Hawks will have home ice advantage, and expect dates of the games very soon.
