An agreement has finally been reached between the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses (SUN) and Saskatchewan Association of Health Organizations (SAHO) on a new contract. Ballots were cast on March 23 province wide, and 91.5% of members of SUN agreed to the new four-year agreement. SAHO is expected to ratify the contract next month.

The new contract will enable nurses to exercise a right to call in additional staff when deemed necessary by the nurse's professional judgement.

The last contract expired March 30, 2014 leaving nurses without a working contract for almost 2 years.
