The Kindersley Sr. Klippers will kick off 2024 with a pair of games this weekend. First up is a home matchup versus the Macklin Mohawks tonight at the West Central Events Centre. Kindersley defeated Macklin 6-1 thanks to 48 saves from Logan Drackett and a hat trick from forward Jonny Calkins. Game time at the WCEC is 8:00 pm.

Macklin is coming off a shocking loss to the Unity Miners on December 22, as the previously winless Miners defeated the Mohawks 5-4. Kindersley is also coming off a loss on December 22 at the hands of the unbeaten Wilkie Outlaws. 

The Sr. Klippers will then head on the road tomorrow night, as they will play the Unity Miners at 8:00 pm. Country 104 will have all the action, with the pregame show beginning at 7:50 pm. 

Klippers win in UnityThe Sr. Klippers will hope for a similar result in Unity, as they knocked off the Miners 6-2 back on November 3. 

Heading into this weekend's action, Kindersley is led by Calkins on the scoresheet, as he has 8 goals and 14 points in 8 games played. Sitting in second in team scoring is Shayne Neigum with 5 goals and 13 points in 8 games played. And wrapping up the top 3 is Kyle Donaldson with 7 goals and 12 points in 10 games played.

The Sr. Klippers sit third in the SWHL standings with a 6-4 record, one point behind Biggar for second and 8 points behind the unbeaten Outlaws, who are 10-0. Hafford also has 12 points but has played one more game than the Sr. Klippers.
