The Kindersley Sr. Klippers and Wilkie Outlaws tangled Friday night in a battle between the top teams in the SWHL. Both teams started off the game tentatively, with many whistles in the early part of the game. It wasn't until the later stages of the first period until the first goal of the game was scored, when the Outlaws converted on a 6-on-5 situation thanks to a delayed penalty on the Sr. Klippers. Brock Harrison went back in his zone and made a picture-perfect pass to Rick Cey at the offensive blueline, and he walked in and beat Logan Drackett to give Wilkie at 1-0 lead.

The second period started off better for Kindersley, as they tied the score on a nice individual effort by Jonny Calkins, as he walked through the Wilkie defense and beat goaltender Jared Herle for his 6th of the season. The game remained tied until just over the halfway point of the second period, where the Outlaws took over. The go-ahead goal was scored by Wilkie captain Andrew Herle. Then just under three minutes later, Wilkie doubled their lead, as Brett Boehm scored. The back breaking goal for the Sr. Klippers was scored just 12 seconds later, as Brock Harrison finished off a nifty passing play from Boem and defenseman Ryan Donald, to make the score 4-1. Wilkie then potted another just over a minute later with Ryne Keller scoring to give the Outlaws a four-goal lead. The Klippers got a late goal on the powerplay on a nice forecheck from Lane Gilliss, as he stole the puck from a Wilkie defender and beat Herle to make it 5-2 in the last minute of play in the second.

The third period only saw a pair of goals, one by each team. Wilkie's Rick Cey got his second of the night at the halfway point of the period, to make the score 6-2. Kindersley answered back just over five minutes later, as Damon McKenzie got his third of the season, with the assist going to Kyle Donaldson. Tempers flared in the later stages of the third, with Wilkie's Troy Gerein and Damon McKenzie getting into it in front of the penalty box. Kindersley's Brody Ryberg then came flying into the fray and took down Gerein and a scrum ensued. After the dust settled, Ryberg, Gerein, and Shayne Neigum were given game misconducts.

These two teams will play once again on December 22, this time at the West Central Events Centre in Kindersley.
