The Eston Riverside Regional Park will be holding a special event for Canada Day. There will be a Show & Shine being held for the day from 10:00 am- 2:30 pm. The cars will then go for a cruise afterwards to show off their special rides as Karen Mullis of the Eston Riverside Regional Park explains.

“At about 2:30, any of the remaining cars that are there are going to do car parade through the cabin area of the Park,” Mullis said.

The event is going to be held at Tyner Hall, which is on the west end of the Park. Parking will be available at the ball diamonds and guests can walk down to the Hall and check out the cars and trucks. There is no entrance fee if people do it this way, but if you enter the Park with your vehicle, a $5 entry fee will be implemented.

The event is going to be a casual, as there will be no awards to be handed out, it will be a nice get together for car enthusiasts and residents of the Park, according to Mullis.

“Anybody that is proud of the vehicle, are sure welcome to come down and display it, we hope to have quite a few people come down and have a look.”

The concession will be open, and with the weather expected to be very warm, cold drinks along with hamburgers and French fries will be available for purchase.

“We will have pop, water that time of thing, snacks. The whole concession booth will be operating in the Park. Anyone that would want to grab a lunch, can go down into there get some fries, hot dogs, hamburgers, that type of thing,” Mullis said.

Mullis pointed out there were ways to keep car show guests cool as well.

“We will have the Hall open for shade. It does stay relatively cool in there if it is not opened wide open. So, it will be there and then we will have cold drinks there for people.”

Mullis also reminded guests that COVID guidelines will be in order and need to be followed by all who attend.

West Central Online will have a follow up on the event, next week.
