Today marks the start of the second step of the provincial government’s Re-Opening Roadmap. This will see several public health orders changed as the province moves closer to the re-opening on July 11th.

The easing of the public health guidelines will see the gathering sizes changed. For public indoor gatherings, as well as private and public outdoor gatherings, the limit will now be 150 people. The limit for private indoor gatherings will be increased to 15.

All remaining restrictions on youth and adult sports have been lifted effective today. This will mean tournaments will be allowed. The changes are for indoor and outdoor sports. It is noted, however, the gathering restrictions will apply to the spectators for the sports.

Restaurants and licensed establishments will no longer have a limit on table capacity, however, two meters of physical distance is required, or a physical barrier if the distance is not possible. Dance floors and buffets remain prohibited.

Conference and banquet facilities, casinos, bingo halls, movie theatres, art galleries and libraries can open as long as the capacity doesn’t exceed 150 people. Venues that offer in-house dining must also follow the guidelines for restaurants.

The visitation rules for long-term and personal care homes are also expanded, with up to four visitors indoors and nine visitors outdoors. Visitors will be allowed for both vaccinated and unvaccinated residents.

The provincial masking mandate remains in place.
