Saskatchewan post-secondary students are paying the third highest tuition rates in the country according to Statistics Canada.
A year’s tuition will cost an average of over $7,100 for university students in Saskatchewan, which is the highest in western Canada.

West Central Online spoke with local resident Angela Heck, who took pre-pharmacy schooling in Alberta because of the high fees in her home province.

Tuition in Alberta is over $3,100 cheaper than Saskatchewan on average.
The only provinces ahead of Saskatchewan are Nova Scotia where students will pay approximately $7,200 a year, and Ontario with the highest in Canada at over $8,100.

Tuition fees are up nearly 3 per cent this year across the country, meaning university students will be paying $6,373 on average in Canada.
