A very generous donation was shared recently with HMCS Regina all thanks to members of the Boyd family.

On the ship's flight deck, Supt. Robert Boyd who is a 41 year veteran of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, graciously gave his red serge uniform to the ship. Boyd wanted to replace his very own uniform with the one that went missing during the ship's mid-life refit.

Boyd resides in Rosetown now that he has entered retirement, but previously served in Regina during his career.

Former Regina commander Captain Jason Boyd, son of Robert Boyd was on hand to witness the event. Robert was very happy and emotional that his father will always be a part of the boat that plans to sail for many years into the future.

There was a top priority to replace the old uniform to help create a symbol the represented a solid relationship with the RCMP, Royal Canadian Navy and the City of Regina. Now the red serge uniform has been officially loaned to the ship until the ship is paid off. It will be returned to the Boyd family in the future.

HMCS Regina has made Boyd an honorary member for his kind act.
