The Town of Rosetown topped the recent provincial release touting nearly $1.72 million heading towards Saskatchewan communities under the umbrella of traffic safety.

"School speed zone awareness in Rosetown, flashing crosswalk signage in North Battleford and bilingual Dene stop signs on the Buffalo River Dene Nation are just a few of the road safety enhancements in the latest round of grants from Saskatchewan's Provincial Traffic Safety Fund." stated the release.

Rosetown is getting $12,614 towards the Elementary School Speed Awareness project, one of 114 projects in 106 Saskatchewan communities being supported by the funding.

The Village of Lucky Lake is also receiving $11,961 for traffic safety and speed awareness equipment. Other local projects included see the Town of Biggar receiving $40,000 towards the second phase of their walking path project, and the RM of Clinworth receiving speed signs for Highway 32 with a price tag of $8,646.

This funding focuses on important intersections, school zones and high-traffic roads in rural, urban and Indigenous communities across Saskatchewan according to the release as the installation of new signage, lights, crosswalks and other traffic safety initiatives will be a major benefit to everyone.

"Through this funding, we'll see 114 new traffic safety projects across our province, all with the intention of improving safety for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians in our communities," Minister Responsible for SGI Don Morgan said. "Thank you to the communities who applied for these grants and for taking initiative to improve safety in your neighbourhoods."
