UPDATE: Tuesday, July 25, 2023, 8:00 AM

Multiple heat records were crushed during yesterdays peak of the heat wave according to Environment and Climate Change Canada web statistics.

Kindersley reached a maximum of 36 degrees, blowing past the record of 33.3 set back in the 1940's. Nearby in Rosetown the temperature reached a balmy 35.4 degrees at the max, again well past the record of 31.8 degrees set in 2006.

Things were even warmer up in Leader with a maximum temperature of 38.5 degrees on Monday, surpassing the record of 33.8 degrees set back in 1998. Stretching across the river to Lucky Lake it reached 36.8 degrees to beat 2019's record of 32. Surprisingly enough looking north to Outlook they were not able to inch past 1998's record of 34 degrees with a mark of only 33.9 as the maximum temperature.

Biggar closes out the list of local weather stations, and with a maximum temperature of 33.3 they too just fell short of their all-time mark of 33.9 degrees set back in 1935.

Kindersley could be in for a record breaking day when it comes to hot weather.

With Monday's forecasted high of 35, and temperatures of above 25 degrees noted already just after 10:00 AM, Kindersley could be well on it's way to 1944's July 24 heat record of 33.3 degrees.

It's been an extended stretch of heat, but despite that, no records were even threatened to be broken during the weekend. Sunday's high of 31.8 degrees fell short of 2007's record of 36.7 degrees. Saturday posted a high of 29.9 degrees to once again fall well short of the record of 37.2 set back in 1946.

If Monday stays on schedule the temperature should reach between 35-36 degrees and easily make it past the record.
