Judging by their grocery donation totals for 2023, FoodMesh Kindersley is doing a great job supplying those in need around west-central Saskatchewan. Lead organizer Barbe Dunn estimates around 100 families a week are helped out by the program.

The group released their inventory stats for 2023 with a post on Facebook Wednesday afternoon. A total of 141,263 pounds of food was redirected to those who need it. That's the equivalent of 117,800 meals according to FoodMesh.

"Last year we brought in 38,243 lbs of produce, 9,644 lbs of bakery items, 10,696 lbs of meat and seafood, 19,762 lbs of grocery items, 58,743 lbs of dairy, and 4,177 lbs of deli items." they shared online.

The gracious bunch was open on Wednesday for people to pick up groceries. Groceries are available for pickup multiple times a week, and the group can be reached at (306) 900-4964 for anymore assistance.

"We are so thankful to be able to run this program and help those in need in our area!"

FoodMesh operates out of the Kindersley Christian Fellowship church. WestCentralOnline did a deep dive with Dunn on the programs success as we enter 2024, and you can expect more on the local organization that helps out those in need of basic necessities.
