The Outlook Riverhawks have won the 2023 Coteau Hills Baseball League championship after a three-game series victory over the Kyle Yellow Jackets.

Home field was crucial in the final series, with the home team winning all three games. This included Outlook winning 4-2 in game one, and Kyle winning 25-14 in game two.

It was Riverhawks who were at home Monday, and they took advantage, winning 15-5, to take home the championship.

Riverhawks player Dean Corbett talked about the final series and had nothing but respect for their opponents, the Kyle Yellow Jackets.

“They are a very, very solid team. They had some recent strong pitching and good guys to play against. They respected the game and the history of baseball. That's all you can ask for when two teams go out on the diamond. You're battling it out and you want to beat the other guy, but you also must respect the integrity of the game of baseball and both Outlook and Kyle did that. It was good to see.”

Corbett was happy to see the Coteau Hills Baseball League in full swing once again.

“It’s good to see baseball back in the old Coteau Hills area again,” he added.

This makes it two championships in three years for the Riverhawks, as they won the league back in 2021 as well.
