A historic weekend of curling is coming to Kindersley next January. Big news back at the end of March saw CURLSASK making the official announcement that for the first time, both the men's and women's curling provincials will be held in the same location over the same weekend.

"Kindersley is the host to the first ever combined Sasktel Men’s Tankard & Viterra Women’s Curling Championships in January 2025!" shared a Wednesday release.

Tickets are going on sale later this year on September 21. The curling action will take over the ice surface at the West Central Events Centre, and will be televised.

"All 24 curling teams will be competing on the West Central Events ice surface. Our entertainment spaces will utilize both the WCEC lounge and the curling rink lounge. The curling rink ice will be a practice surface for the curling teams." shared Host Committee Chair, Lexie Adamson. "Our host committee has so many plans in the works, and we cannot wait to share all the happenings with you!"

Not only will the top 12 men's and women's teams in the province be in Kindersley, but joining them will be event volunteers, officials, media, coaching staff, families, and most importantly, fans.

"This is an incredible opportunity to showcase Kindersley, our curling club, and the west-central Region, while benefiting our local businesses and hospitality services."

Adamson ended the release by giving a shoutout to the thirteen committee members and other curling club members already involved in the planning.
