The West Central Literacy Committee launched a free mini library in the Rosetown Civic Centre to use for the public. It's being placed right outside the "Kid Care" entrance which is a popular area that's visited by parents and children of all ages.

Anyone that comes to the new mini library can take as many books as they need, and can also return the favour by dropping off books from their own home.

Carmen Ledding, who's in charge of creating this new library in town, talked about how there will be a selection of books for all ages.

"The premise behind this library is take a book, leave a book. We want the community to share all the books that they no longer use, and engage in some of the new books that haven't been looked at before. There will be books that will be appealing to all ages, which is a huge factor in this community." Ledding said.

Other towns in the West Central Region will be looking at creating their own mini libraries in the future after the positive support given by the community in Rosetown.

The official introduction was held on Saturday afternoon at the Rosetown Civic Centre, and many active readers came out to drop off books, and take new ones home.
