Over 5 million dollars was raised this year to support Ronald McDonald Houses across the country during McHappy day.  The largest amount ever for the fundraiser.

McHappy Day took place on May 4th, with $1 of every Big Mac, Happy Meal, and McCafe beverage sale going to children's charities, like the Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House provides homes to families with sick children who must travel for treatment.  Saskatchewan alone saw over 16,000 families that have been helped since 1985, with an average of 661 families staying per year.

Since the introduction of McHappy Day in 1977 the fundraiser has raised more than 55 million dollars across Canada.

This year the Kindersley McDonald's saw a very successful McHappy Day.  Kindersley was one of 1,400 McDonald's restaurants that participated.  West Central Online spoke to McDonald's staff who said sales throughout the day were steady and people were specifically coming in to support McHappy Day, and Ronald McDonald House charities.
