In a pair of games over the weekend, the Wilkie Outlaws and Macklin Mohawks battled it out in exciting senior hockey action. Game two in Wilkie went to overtime, after goals were scored in regulation by Macklin's Lukas Biensch, and Wilkie's Garrett Cameron. After only more penalty being called throughout the first three periods, the Mohawks were shorthanded in overtime on a questionable kneeing penalty to Spencer Bast. Wilkie immediately took advantage, scoring 16 seconds into the powerplay to take game two. Macklin, who was visibly upset at the officials, took a misconduct penalty from the bench after the game. Rick Cey scored the game winner for the Outlaws, and Jared Herle made 43 saves for the win.

Macklin came back in game three in their home rink, and took a 1-0 lead after one, on a goal by Brian Hillis. The teams traded goals in the second period, as Derek Keller scored for the Outlaws, and Grant baker lit the lamp for the Mohawks, as Macklin took the one goal lead into the final period. The third period saw a flurry of goals, as Mohawks forward Lukas Biensch scored a pair, and Hunter Steinhubel scored the other for Macklin. Blake Young scored for the Outlaws, but it wasn't enough, as the final score was 5-3 for the Mohawks, to give them a 2-1 series lead with a chance to win the SWHL final on the road next Saturday at 8:00 pm at the Saskcan Community Centre.
