The annual Parkinson's Superwalk made its way through Kindersley last weekend, and thousands of dollars was raised for Parkinson's research, aiming to one day develop a cure for the disease.

The walk was scaled down once again this year, with fewer people taking part at the event itself, but with many more being able to join in through Facebook and other online alternatives.

The walk usually brings in a large sum of money, and this year was no different, as over $9000 was raised over the weekend, with donations still trickling in according to local Superwalker Nancy Kelley of Kindersley.

Kelley, who has been living with Parkinson's for many years, wanted to thank all the people in the west central area for their continued support, and pledges for the Parkinson's Superwalk. She also encouraged people to watch the opening ceremony of the event online, and to continue to support Parkinson's research.
