With the onset of multiple bike thefts around the city, thieves aren’t the only pests Kindersley residents should keep their eyes open for. A badger was spotted last Thursday, lurking around the area surrounding Kindersley Composite School thinking it was a good place to set up shop.

Many may have heard a gun-shot in the area which was the result of a successful attempt by the RCMP to evict the vagrant weasel. With school starting this week, the timing couldn’t have been more advantageous as, “badgers can be very aggressive and can inflict major injuries to humans.” said Kindersley RCMP.

Adult badgers can weigh anywhere in between 10 to 40 pounds and have powerful jaws and tough claws and can be quick to cause potentially painful damage to humans and animals alike.

The RCMP added that if you do see any kind of animal that could potentially be dangerous, to call your local RCMP detachment.
