Earlier this week the Kindersley RCMP managed to locate a wanted 22-year-old Austin Heid. You'll recognize Heid's name after he successfully evaded officers back in January. At the time local RCMP officers were investigating a theft, and surveillance footage was used to help identify Heid as the suspect. When officers approached his location, Heid managed to escape on foot and a short chase ensued. As a result the local detachment as the public for its assistance in locating Heid.
Heid was apprehended on March 5th.
Heid has been remanded to court, and was scheduled to make his first appearance on March 8th in Saskatoon. Heid was wanted on several outstanding warrants for property related offences as well as for obstruction.
