Since September dancers have been hard at work learning new skills and putting together dances for competition. But, now it is their time to show off all their hard work at their end of the year recitals. Open for everyone, you can come and enjoy the wonderful dancing these dancers have worked so hard at all year!

I for one, have put in many hours of work over the past nine months. I take part in the dance styles: lyrical, tap, jazz, hip hop, and musical theatre. I performed in seven dances this year, six being group dances and one being a duet.

It is a rewarding experience to dance for I come out of it knowing more than how to point my feet and do a jump. I’ve learned teamwork, time management, discipline, poise, sportsmanship, leadership, work ethic, stage presence, and how to take criticism. Lastly, I’ve learned that the word “can’t” does not exist because if you give it your time and energy “can’t” becomes “can”.

Travelling to four different competitions I have had a blast meeting new people and sharing my love of dance with those who come to watch. The chance to get adjudicated by many talented dancers is amazing as they give you a new perspective and give you the criticism to grow as a dancer.

My dance school is Sieben School of Dance which is a wonderful dance school ran by Kara-lee Sieben. Her dedication to the dancers is so amazing as she teaches in Macklin, Kerrobert, and Kindersley. It is because of her I have grown to be the graceful dancer and energetic performer I am.

And now it is my favourite time of the year as I get to share all my hard work to the community and my family at the end of the year recital.
