The Kindersley Jr. Klippers faced off with the Humboldt Broncos at the West Central Events Centre back on Saturday. Things started off well for the home team, with Tylin Hilbig cashing in just over three minutes in on the powerplay. The assists on Hilbig's 18th of the season went to Cash Arntsen and Zak Anderson. Undeterred the visiting Broncos came back just 36 seconds later, as Conner Miller got his 6th of the season. Humboldt then took the lead just over three minutes later, with Patrick Lanthier scoring his 7th of the season. The Broncos then added to late goals, one by Landen Stromme, his 4th of the year, and the other by sniper Matthew van Blaricom, to make the score 4-1 heading into the second period.

Kindersley clawed their way back in the second, getting two goals, one from rookie Cobe Perlinger, the hometown Klipper's 6th of the season. The other came from another rookie, leading goal scorer Keenan Ingram, who potted his 19th of the season to get Kindersley within one heading into the third period.

Kindersley managed to tie the score late in the third with Tylin Hilbig scoring his second of the evening and 19th of the year with just under five minutes to go. But once again the Broncos answered just over a minute later this time, as Van Blaricom got his second of the night to give Humboldt a 5-4 lead. Then with just over two minutes to go with the goaltender pulled, Van Blaricom completed the hat trick, to give the visiting Broncos a 6-4 victory.

Coming off a gold medal at the World Junior A Challenge, Van Blaricom continued his solid play, and with his three goals, now has 21 on the season. One of the keys in this game was the solid play of Broncos goaltender Aidan Fischer, who made 39 saves on 43 shots for his 8th victory of the season.

Kindersley will look for its for first points in 2024 against the Notre Dame Hounds, who will be at the West Central Events Centre this Friday at 7:30 pm. RBC Community Ambassador Kyler Smith will be honoured before the game for his hard work in the community this season.
