An inspection by Transport Canada will effectively put an early end to the season for the Riverhurst Ferry.  Following today, the seasonal vessel which usually operates from May to December will be taken off the water until 2024.

The Riverhurst Ferry transports nearly 30,000 vehicles each season on highway 42 across Lake Diefenbaker from Riverhurst on the east bank to Lucky Lake on the west bank.

At nearly 120', the watercraft is Saskatchewan's largest ferry and vehicles traveling 24 hours a day, every 30 minutes during daylight, and on demand at night, toll free.

Updates are readily available via the Highway Hotline and information can be obtained by dialing 5-1-1.
