Repairs have finished on the Highway 21 bridge over the South Saskatchewan River.

Located north of Leader, the bridge had previously been damaged after a collision. The repairs entailed 30 metal posts being replaced, and the metal cables being reused and re-affixed.

Dan Palmer, media spokesperson for the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways, was able to assure that the reused cables were not damaged in the original incident.

"There was no damage caused to the actual bridge itself," said Palmer. "There weren't any weight restrictions imposed, so it's all ship shape."

These repairs were finished last week, to a final cost of $13,250. Repairs were done along a 50-metre stretch, and only took one day to complete.
