High school football teams are beginning to prepare for the upcoming season. Fall practices are likely firing up this week for many teams around the province, ahead of the first day of school after September long weekend.

SHSAA conferences this year don't show to much change. 1A Conference 1 features Kerrobert, Macklin, and Plenty for local 6-man teams, joined by Big River and Hafford.

2A Conference 1 is all local with Unity, Biggar, Eatonia, Kindersley, Outlook, and Rosetown in the mix.

Players must accrue a certain amount of practice time prior to the first game, and with the first day of school coming up soon, these fall dates are paramount to any early season success these teams may want to have.

Week 1 will kick-off the same week as school.
