A recent dry weather spell in southwestern Saskatchewan is continuing to hinder campers in the region.

Last week, Saskatchewan Parks announced they've placed fire restrictions on Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park and Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park.

The limitation will ban any open fires at both parks, although CSA-approved self-contained portable gas heaters and fire pits, barbecues, pressurized stoves, and charcoal briquettes are still allowed.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada data, Cypress Hills (currently under ban) hasn't received any precipitation since July 25 (2.4 mm).
