Ditson Drive in Kindersley will be closed for a portion of this week for a final asphalt overlay.

The road officially closed around Tuesday morning at 7:00 AM, and is expected to remain closed until Wednesday evening around 7-8 PM.

Because of this, some spots around town could be set for heavier traffic the next couple of days.

The Town of Kindersley shared this news last week, and on Monday they released a better idea of what residents can expect.

The Town's social media pages shared, "it might be a little bit hectic travelling around town for the next couple of days", asking people to plan an alternate route and extra time to commute.

"Ditson Drive will be closed from just south of 11th Avenue East to West Road (Barricades will be placed just north of West Road on Ditson Drive). 11th Avenue East will be open for access to the Co-op Gas Bar, East Crossing Mall, and Walmart."

Even though the work is slated to be completed by Wednesday night, they are warning that slower than expected asphalt cooling could push the road closure to early Thursday morning. Often times projects like these are estimates and include timelines that are subject to change.

As always with roadwork the Town is thanking residents for their patience and understanding. They also wanted to remind drivers to be aware of workers themselves as construction continues around Kindersley.
