The Village of Dinsmore, with support from surrounding communities, continues to rally to be named Hockeyville, 2020.

The Kraft Hockeyville Competition has received 431 nomination stories, thus far, from Dinsmore. The more entries the Dinsmore Memorial Arena receives, the better the odds are that the west central community will move on to the next round of the competition.

Nomination stories must include a description of why the community should win, the arena's importance within the community, how the prize money would be used as well as a depiction of the community's spirit and passion for hockey.

The winner of the competition will receive $250,000 in arena upgrades as well as the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season hockey game.

This past weekend the Dinsmore Memorial Arena was painted in black and orange as spectators filled the arena in Dynamo colours to take in midget and senior games.

Years of hockey memorabilia were on display, in the 26 year old facility, showing that the spirit and history of hockey runs deep in the community.

You can nominate and rally for the Dinsmore Memorial Arena until February 9th and judging begins the next day.

On March 14th, the top four communities will be announced.
