Multiple Kindersley residents reported coyote sightings in the Rosedale area over the past weekend. Individuals at Prairie Winds Estates also reported seeing coyotes, though a majority of the sightings have come from around Ditson and Thomson Drive in Rosedale. They are definitely busy this time of year, and some residents from Golfview are rumored to have located a coyote den behind the trailer-park.

It is mating season for these animals, which means they can tend to be more aggressive. These sightings serve as a reminder for you to be extra aware of your small children or pets whereabouts this time of year, as coyotes will likely act more aggressive.

It is recommended that you leave the situation to a conservation officer instead of taking the problem into your own hands. There is no hunting/poisoning allowed inside town limits, though you do not need a license to hunt coyotes in Saskatchewan. There are some rules to remember, such as the fact you can not use poison unless you are a trained conservation officer in certain situations, and that hunters can not chase or pursue coyotes in any vehicle, including trucks, ATVs or snowmobiles.
