Highlighting the calls to service for the Unity & Area RCMP for the period of June 8 to June 14 were a male from Denzil being charged with Assault, two counts of Assault with a Weapon, and Assault on a Police Officer with a weapon, among other various charges, after a complaint of a domestic dispute. There was also a report of an individual egging a vehicle but there was insufficient evidence to proceed. Read the full Unity & Area RCMP report below:
UNITY REPORTS
· RCMP received a complaint of an indecent act. Members located the subject of complaint and arrested the individual. The complainant requested no further action be taken. The subject of complaint was released with a warning.
· Members acted as mediators in a child custody dispute.
· A 50-year-old man from Denzil was charged with Assault, two counts of Assault with a Weapon, Assault on Police Officer with a Weapon, Mischief and two counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order Condition after Members received a complaint of a domestic dispute.
· Police received a noise complaint. Members spoke to the complainant who had contacted the Town of Unity to deal with the matter.
· RCMP attended a two vehicle collision in Unity. There were no injuries and no charges were laid.
· Members are investigating the theft of an Arctic Cat ATV from a residence yard in Unity.
· Police received a report of an abandoned vehicle near Salvador. The vehicle was not stolen. Members contacted the registered owner who agreed to move it.
· CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction in Unity. Reported for information purposes.
· CN Police also reported a railway crossing malfunction near Tramping Lake. This matter was also reported for information purposes.
· RCMP received a complaint of uttering threats. This matter is still under investigation.
· Police received a Mental Health Act complaint. Members transported the subject of complaint to Battlefords Union Hospital for assessment.
· Members received a complaint of an individual egging a vehicle but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
· RCMP received a report of a missing person but the subject of complaint was located shortly after the initial complaint.
· Police received a complaint of theft. This matter is still under investigation.
· Members received a complaint of an individual in possession of stolen property but it was unfounded.
· RCMP received a complaint of an individual failing to comply with a probation order. This matter is still under investigation.
· Members attended a house fire near Tramping Lake. Unity Fire Department extinguished the fire which was not suspicious in nature.
· There were also two traffic complaints and one false 911 call.
WILKIE REPORTS
· RCMP received a complaint of harassing communications. Insufficient evidence to proceed.
· Police received a complaint of an individual not self isolating as per COVID 19 Health Authority regulations. Members contacted the subject of complaint and issued a verbal warning.
· There was a report of an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was parked legally and was not stolen. No police action required.
· A youth was charged with two counts of Fail to Comply with Conditions after Members received a report of a family dispute.
· RCMP received a complaint of a dog running loose in Wilkie. The dog was returned to the animal owner.
· CN Police reported three railway crossing malfunctions in rural areas near Wilkie this week. All occurrences were reported for information purposes.
· Police received a report of theft but it was unfounded.
· There was also one traffic complaint.
MACKLIN REPORT
· RCMP received a report of property lost in shipping on two separate occasions this week. Reported as per business policy.
· Police received a complaint of a neighbor dispute. Reported for information purposes.
· Members attended a noise complaint but the residence was quiet on arrival.
· RCMP received a complaint of theft but it was unfounded.
