A special night of laughter, and good fun, is set to come to the Town of Elrose, appropriately on April 1. Elrose mayor Dane MacDonald explains the funds for the night are going to support the Elrose Playground Project.

“The whole school is looking to raise some money to put up some new playground equipment, there's a ton of kids in school and more coming in. So, we need some more playground equipment. A few businesses around here decided that, hey, you know what we should put on a big fundraiser because people want to get out again and we want to help out. So, we reached out to a couple of comedians and we picked one up and we're organizing the night and have a good time selling probably over 200 tickets if we can. We hope to raise some good money for it,” MacDonald said.

There is also a silent auction which will be held on the same evening.

“There's starting to be some items being donated towards the silent auction that'll be held that night as well. That should bring in some extra funds,” MacDonald added.

The comedian that Elrose will be featuring is Sean Lecomber, who was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Happy hour starts at 7:00 pm at the Elrose Memorial Hall, with the show starting at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $40 apiece and you can contact Nadine at 306-378-7976, or Jill at 306-260-8812 if you are interested in attending. The night is sponsored by 4/44 Services and Midtown Autobody, with other local businesses sponsoring different segments throughout the evening.
