Eston residents will have a lot to celebrate on Friday as the town will be hosting events for both Canada Day and the town's centennial. July 1st will only be the start what will be a a successful weekend of celebrating within the community.

The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, and admission is only $8.00 for guests. Not too long after the parade will begin at 10:00 AM as well. Below is an image of the parade route:

As mentioned in the parade route image, town officials are asking residents who choose to participate in the parade to only deliver the candy or goodies from hand-to-hand and not throw them from the floats due to insurance policies.

The entire day will be full of events and activities for residents of all ages. Starting at 11:00 AM, children will have the opportunity to take part in a petting zoo, clown show, and bouncy castles. Tours of the museum buildings, kids games, and dessert are another component of the afternoon's festivities for the whole family.

Plans for the evening are sure to bring residents into an exciting mood leading into the fireworks. A time machine presentation will be made starting at 4:30 PM along with the hyped up finale of the "Kiss The Pig" contest. A sold out turkey dinner, 50-year school reunion, and a presentation named "The Treasure of Eston" which starts at 8:00 PM in the Community Complex are the highlights for the night. Fireworks are scheduled for 10:45 PM.
