Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government are looking at tightening up driving laws for the future.

The demand to legalize marijuana across Canada has been talked about lots, and with it comes stricter laws, especially behind the wheel. The new laws are dedicated to close loopholes and make it easier for police and the courts to crack down on both drunk and drug-impaired drivers.

The new laws introduced by Trudeau includes mandatory road side breathalyzer screening and laws aimed at cracking down on people who are high behind the wheel.

This is a huge step in the right direction, especially for the province of Saskatchewan. The province holds some statistics that are alarming in impaired driving. According to MADD, Saskatchewan's DUI fatality rate is three to five times the national average. On average, one person dies per week as a result of impaired driving.
