The countdown is on for the start of the 2017 High School football season, and the Biggar Blazers have a lot to be excited about heading into this year's season.

Biggar is counting on a solid season from their older players after the struggles the team went through in 2016. Last season, Biggar finished the year with one victory and four losses with the lone win coming on the road against Dalmeny. One of the worst losses of the season came on their own turf against the surging team from Hafford in a 42-8 defeat.

This year, Biggar is already feeling like they have a chance to give Hafford a taste of their own medicine when the two teams open up the season on Friday September 8th in Hafford.

Biggar's schedule will see a few teams from last season, but will take on some new teams that are being introduced into the conference. For the home opener, Biggar will welcome the 6-man team from Aberdeen which is scheduled for September 15th.

Biggar will also take on Aberdeen, Dalmeny and Outlook at home this season and will travel to play in Rosetown, Clavet and Hafford. There are some challenging games on the schedule, but the Blazers football program strongly believes they have a chance to win every single league game.
