With temperatures in the high 20s on Monday and Tuesday, it really hasn't felt like autumn yet in West Central. Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologist Terri Lang talks about the warm temperatures to start the week and said Kindersley did not reach a record high.

"Kindersley got to 28 degrees, and the record 32.8 degrees in 1952 so, we needed a little bit more in the way of heat."

A record did fall in Lucky Lake, as the mercury reached 30.8 degrees on Tuesday. After the blast of heat, things will start to change early next week according to Lang.

"It does look like we are in for a fairly substantial pattern change next week, meaning we will get into the cooler temperatures, wind and rain and that type of thing that of course we haven't seen in a very long time."

The cooler temperatures will mean an increased risk of frost.

“We may see some patchy frost coming up just because we are looking for clearer skies, cooler temperatures, probably not a killing frost, but frost in the low-lying areas. So, just be aware of that if you still have some stuff in the garden and maybe some bedding plants and all,” Lang added.
