Tyler Hurd age 33, and Tammy Poffley age 52, are charged in the death of 55-year-old Cynthia Crampton, who was found dead inside her home in the Saskatoon Stonebridge neighbourhood on Friday June 3rd.

Hurd and Poffley were arrested Sunday night on outstanding warrants after a police pursuit near Biggar. Today, Saskatoon police confirmed that Hurd was charged with first-degree murder while Poffley was facing a charge of accessory to murder. Hurd appeared this morning in Saskatoon provincial court and Poffley is expected to appear this afternoon.

Police reported that the pair were spotted near Asquith, Sask. before they headed west on Highway 14. RCMP found them with help from the Saskatoon police plane.

The woman was arrested after police did a traffic stop, but the man allegedly drove away. Police reported that he was chased into a field where he abandoned the vehicle he was driving and tried to flee on foot before being caught.

Police said Monday that they seized a gun at the scene.
