Three positives case of COVID-19 was added to Saskatchewan’s total number Wednesday, for a total of 304, but still more recoveries were noted in the daily release from the ministry of health.

There were 18 more recoveries, for a total of 205 total recoveries so far, and only 95 cases are considered active.

Eight people are in hospital in the province, an increase of one from Tuesday, but there are no people in intensive care with COVID.

4 people have died from the virus, which is unchanged from previous days, to go along with one from the central region.

Of the cases, 131 are travel-related, 122 are community contacts or mass gatherings, 30 have no known exposures and 21 are under investigation by public health.

Thirty-four of the cases are health care workers, and the province says the infections may not be because of their health care in all instances.

A total of 147 of the cases are from the Saskatoon area, 67 are from the Regina area, 58 are from the north, seven are from the far north, 15 are from the south and 10 are from the central region.

One more person recovered in the central region, to bring the active cases down to 2.

Twenty-two cases are of people 19 and younger, and 51 are in the 65-plus range. Fifty-three per cent of the cases are male and 47 per cent are female.

Thusfar, 20,907 tests have been performed.

While the caseload continues to fall in Saskatchewan, nationally, there are now over 28,000 cases, with over 1,000 deaths recorded. Nearly 500 of the deaths have been recorded in Quebec alone.

Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia each had their active caseloads increase Wednesday. Newfoundland and Labrador and New Brunswick saw their active caseloads drop with more recoveries than new positive cases.
