Saskatchewan set a new mark for a one-day total of COVID-19 vaccines administered in the 24 hour period ending Saturday afternoon. Across the province, there were 2,857 doses of the vaccines administered. Saskatoon and Prince Albert led the way with 893 and 857 doses administered. There were 426 doses administered in the North East zone, 285 in the South East, 267 in the Regina zone and 129 in the Far North West.

So far, there have been 16,927 doses of vaccine administered across the province. This total includes first and second doses, as well as vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer.

In their daily report Saturday, the provincial government reported two more deaths in Saskatchewan linked to COVId-19. Both were residents of the Regina zone – one in the 60-69 age group and one in the 80+ age group.

There were 270 new cases reported across the province in the update. There were 68 new cases reported in Saskatoon, 49 in the North West, 47 in the Regina zone, 26 in the South East, 23 in North Central, 15 in the Far North East, 13 in the North East, 10 in the Far North West, six in South Central, five in Central East, one in Far North Central and seven that have pending residence information.

Currently, 193 people are in hospital across the province receiving treatment for COVID-19. Of those, 35 are in intensive care.

In addition to the new cases reported, it was confirmed there were 235 recoveries from COVID-19 reported by the provincial government. This brings the number of active cases across the province to 4,043. The seven-day average of new cases is now 311.
