The Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation announced it has a brand new initiative, aimed at getting more women involved in Conservation Leadership.

Chelsea Walters, Communications and Marketing Manager, explained that the main purpose of the initiative is "to get more women to take on those more high-level roles within our organization".

She also added that another goal of theirs is "to get other environmental organizations across the province and also nationally to join in on this initiative".

With 40% of the Federations members being women, Chelsea expressed the importance of having the Governing bodies represent the organization as a whole.

Even though Chelsea said she was "skeptical at first" expecting some resistance, but this initiative has gotten a great amount of support and praise from members of the Federation as well as the Government and other Non-profit organizations.
