Rosetown’s Co-op Ag Store caught fire late Saturday evening, and was unfortunately unable to be saved.

Fire Fighters were called to the scene shortly after 9:00 pm, and were able to contain the blaze to the single building, and continued to fight the fire until approximately 4:30 am, but by then it was too late to save the building.

Thankfully, nobody was injured, and while the Fire Department doesn’t currently know what started the fire, Fire Chief Dennis Ogg said they know where the fire started.

“The fire was up in the, what we call the attic of the building. Wind conditions were terrible, it really hampered any effort to put it out. We had an awful time. We were out until just about 6 this [Sunday] morning.”

Due to the wind conditions, Fire Fighters concentrated their efforts on preventing the fire from spreading, even more so once it was clear the building couldn’t be saved.
