The Town of Rosetown will now be running the Civic Centre.

The group that was previously managing the centre recommended they dissolve at a Recreation Comittee meeting on November 1st. Recreation Committeee Chair, Trevor Hay, brought this to the attention of the rest of council at their November19th town meeting. There were no questions or comments from council about the dissolving of the board.

The town also accepted the resignation of Brenda Peters, former Manager of the Civic Centre.

The former Civic Centre Board had stated they did not feel they were on the same page as council, with council members questioning many decisions made by the board.

They were also restricted by financial concerns, with the centre earning less money now than in the past, with growing maintenance costs.

Council had approved an increase of 3% for the rental rates at the Civic Centre, which will come into effect February 1st.
