Questions and concerns continue to be made aware to local RCMP Detachment members by the public, and answers are starting to come out.

The Rosetown Elks Hall hosted members from the RCMP to provide a presentation regarding recent statistics on crime, and then took the time to answer every single question given to them about anything regarding safety or property damage situations.

Similar to the meeting held in Biggar recently, many farmers and land owners remain concerned with having someone approach their property, and want change for the large amount of land that needs to be covered to ensure safety.

Sargeant Jason Waldner provided numbers regarding statistics on crime in many different aspects, and it's safe to say crime is down in the region:

"We have seen a decrease in crime in our area. We saw an increase in 2014 and 2015, but in the past two years we have gone through a significant decrease in crime. This comes with a group effort with great leaders in our system, as well as the involvement with members in the community."

Sargeant Waldner believes that if the public continues to work together, and continue to look out for one another, that strides will continue to be maintained.

"It's something that I truly believe in that if we can build these relationships and look out for one another, we will start to create a real difference."

Waldner believes that these meetings are incredibly significant, and explained why.

"We gather here to answer questions, and talk about certain strategies to reduce crime in the area. It's unfortunate, but the criminals are also doing the same thing in another area to find any advantages they can. We must continue to unite together as a group, and come up with unique ways to stay ahead of the criminals" said Waldner.

RCMP recommended taking certain precautions like locking up certain belongings, looking into certain security cameras, and placing "Do not Disturb" signs on property.
