Saddle up cowboys and cowgirls. The 13th Annual Kerrobert KRCA Rodeo is this weekend and is slated to be one of the biggest in the community's history.

12 events make up the rodeo schedule with 350 entries compacted between Saturday and Sunday's schedule.

The 3-day event will be marked as one of the highlights for the town this summer since it attracts people from not only the community, but from different parts of the province.

"Our committee has been working hard with it since last year's rodeo," said Dustin Gintaut, president of the Kerrobert Rodeo Committee. "We have great volunteers and lots of sponsorships from the surrounding communities. The whole west central region supports us very well."

Attendees can expect a great showing from local participants as well. Gintaut said this event isn't just a Kerrobert rodeo, adding that riders from the whole area will be competing this weekend.

As for the number of people that will be within town limits over the next couple days, he's expecting hundreds of travelers to temporarily grow the municipality's population to be a part of the action.

"We've been working on this all week. We'll start putting things up on Thursday and tear it all down on Sunday night," he said. "We all love it."

The fun and excitement begins tomorrow night with the SRCA Jackpot at 7:00 PM.
