Influenza Vaccination Shots have been available across West Central Saskatchewan for the past several weeks, but there is no better time to receive the vaccine shot than this week.

Influenza Vaccination Week runs has been running from the 3rd of December to the 9th of December, making it the most vital time for a flu shot.  Past seasons have shown that few people get vaccinated against influenza after the end of November, making the first part of December more likely.

Another purpose of having IVW (Influenza Vaccination Week) is to raise awareness to young children, pregnant women, people with certain chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes, heart disease or lung disease, and people aged 65 years and older. Holiday season has begun and it's not too late to receive a flu shot in the area.

Here is a list of Influenza Clinics that are taking place in December:

Eston - December 11th @ The Senior's Hall

Macklin - December 12th @ Macklin St. Jo's Health Center

Kindersley - December 18th @ Public Health Clinic Room

Unity - December 19th @ Unity HC Boardroom.

There are more clinics taking place in January once the new year begins.
