The Rosetown Harvest Family Festival has come again, and will be running from October 7th to the 13th.

The Rosetown Harvest Family Festival is an annual, week-long event in October. It is considered a homecoming event for Rosetown locals, their families and visitors to the community.

Hugh Lees, a coordinator for the Festival, helps to explain some of the various events and attractions.

“We start off with a coffee party at each of the banks starting Monday to Thursday, Thursday Night we have our concert at Elks all featuring Creek City, Friday is the VIP Pumpkin Decorating Contest, a football game under the lights, a movie for the kids. Saturday is a full gamete of activities starting with a pancake breakfast at Regal Motors, a parade, downtown games for the kids, lots of food, theatre production, fireworks. Lots of entertainment for everyone.”

The Harvest Festival brings in a healthy crowd every year, and Lees is expecting around 1500 people on Saturday alone. Lees helps with the advertising for the festival, as well as lending his hand to the preparation. After that, his main priority is to help with the concert.

Lees explains what he likes the most about the Festival, and what it shows about the people of Rosetown.

“I think it’s just seeing people out there having fun and enjoying it. What’s kinda neat on the Saturday is lots of people come home for the weekend, and so you get to see people that you haven’t seen in a long time. Rosetown comes together when there’s an event on; comes together and enjoy the event and enjoy visiting with each other. We’re a really positive rural community."

The Festival will also feature a Tough Truck competition, market events, and food vendors.
