Recent construction near downtown Kindersley had some residents rerouting to get to their destination but the upheaval is a sign of progress for the new fire hall. Construction crews had Railway Avenue blocked off restricting drivers from going south from Main Street as they dug into the avenue.

The Town has confirmed that the construction was to add water lines and the sanitary sewer system for the new fire hall that will take over the space that Peavey Mart used to occupy.

Construction on the fire hall is set to get underway early this coming spring with goals of being complete prior to the end of 2019.

It has been said by the Town, that the construction shouldn’t create any interruptions for residents aside from the asphalt pavement patch that will happen sometime in the new year.

The new building will include a training area, five bays, a hose tower, storage for equipment and a rest area for eight personnel.
