A large fire was reported near the community of Biggar. Online reports from RCMP and locals stated that the fire stretched from Woods Road to Perdue.

As of approximately 3:45, Highway 14 was closed and traffic was being rerouted to surrounding grid roads.

Locals reported as of 4:18 pm Highway 14 at Junction 4 was also closed. 

However, as of 4:27 pm, the Biggar RCMP released a statement which said Highway 14 has been reopened and thanked the public for their assistance and understanding. 

At this time, 5:00 pm, it has not been stated whether the fire has been contained. The cause of the blaze has also not been released. 

Currently, according to Envirornment Canada, winds near Biggar are blowing at approximately 36 km/hr, gusting to 56 km/hr, which could add challenges to extinguishing the fire.
