If you are planning on volunteering your time to any extra curricular programs including sports, or if you will be caring for children outside of school, you may be required to obtain a criminal record check.

The Kindersley RCMP have been posting reminders for those interested in everything from coaching to care-giving, with children’s safety being top-of-mind, most organizations or even parents will ask and require a criminal record check to be complete before lending your time to various positions.

Leanne Flahr with media relations for the Kindersley RCMP, stated that the process is not new and most times the requirement will be outlined by the program coordinators, however, if you are unsure, it is always best to ask so you can be prepared with the proper documentation.

Flahr added that the check can be preformed at any detachment within the region and only takes a few minutes, you will however need to bring two pieces of government issued identification and it is also free of charge.

For those southeast of Kindersley, the Eston detachment will be open Wednesday September 12, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. and the Kindersley detachment is open throughout the week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
