There are two hockey teams in the Pee Wee division from Unity that compete in the Hi-Way 14 Hockey League, and both happen to be finding success in league game or in other tournaments. But for SHA Provincials, the teams will be combining to make one team that will compete against the best competition in the province.

The Unity Lazers have 12 players on each of their two teams, and it's given the kids plenty of ice time in games to work on getting better. Players are used to playing longer minutes compared to some of the other teams in the league who have close to 18 or 19 players on their active roster.

For provincials, the Lazers will carry players from both teams to make a full sized roster to compete. Players from opposite teams will have to learn how to play with one another for the important games.

Jere Berger, Head Coach of the #1 Unity Lazers, talks about how both Lazer teams compete in the North Division of the Hi-Way 14 Hockey League, and how both teams are fighting to get in the playoff round.

"The top 4 teams in the division get into the A-side playoffs, while the rest of the teams will move down to the B-side playoffs. Both Unity teams are right in the mix of fighting to get into the A-side playoffs." Berger said.

The Lazer clubs will still play games for the rest of February before starting up playoffs, while also starting their provincial run against Lashburn. Their two-game total point series must be completed by February 19th before moving on to the next round.
