The Rosetown Senior Girls Volleyball team hosted their home tournament this past weekend. RCHS teacher, Rebecca Stein along with community coach, Nicole Vanderleest, welcomed seven teams from the west central area for the eight team tournament.

Along with Rosetown’s team of ten girls, Pool A saw athletes from Plenty, Leader and Wilkie.

Pool B, consisted of players from Outlook, Macklin, Unity and Kerrobert.

Game one for the Royals went to Macklin, who won in two sets with scores of 25-18 and 25-15. The girls saw some success in game two, where they beat Leader 25-18 and 25-19. The second day of the tournament saw RCHS beat Wilkie in two sets, both with scores of 25-18.

Rosetown faced Outlook first in the re-pool where they won by 25-16 and 25-18 taking them to the semi finals.

In the semi-finals, the Royals went head to head with the tournaments gold medal winners, Macklin. The team did not fare how they would have liked to with a disappointing score of 25-8 and 25-15, taking them to the bronze medal game.

The Royals weren't able to pull off a win against Unity for the bronze, and took home fourth place after losing 25-15 and 25-22.

The Royals are gearing up to travel to Unity next weekend and will be playing in Saskatoon at the U of S the following weekend.
